Our school knows a thing or two about incubators as it was the school that integrated the first technological incubator within an engineering school more than 35 years ago. Entrepreneurship is second nature here and has been part of the program for all students for the past 20 years...
The incubator offers two programs, both located in the school’s Creativity hub :
Support
12 TO 36 MONTHS TO VALIDATE YOUR PROJECT (AND GET YOUR FIRST CUSTOMERS...)
IMT Mines Alès knows a thing or two about incubation! It was IMT Mines Alès that set up the first technology incubator within the engineering school 30 years ago. Entrepreneurship is second nature here, and has been part of the curriculum for all students for 20 years...
Incubation by IMT Mines Alès means :
An agile offer to save time:
The IMT Mines Alès incubator is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs with innovative projects based on technologies related to the areas of specialisation of the IMT Mines Alès research centres.
We are involved from the idea stage onwards, helping high-potential projects to consolidate, with the aim of creating sustainable businesses that create jobs in the Occitanie region.
A dedicated team :
The incubator team provides you with the skills, tools and methods you need to secure your business and find funding.
You'll benefit from two types of tailor-made support:
1 business manager to support you in your business strategy
+ 1 teacher-researcher to advise you on your technological choices.
The school's resources at your disposal :
The school's research centres, students and partners are involved in your project. With its own budget managed by the incubator, we offer you a range of services and tools to help you become an entrepreneur: training, events, coaching tailored to your needs (market research, focus groups, intellectual property, technical studies, etc.) and the purchase of components/raw materials for your prototype.
Premises and a living allowance:
A not insignificant little extra: you can also benefit from subsistence allowances and premises so that you can get up and running straight away.
A network of partners :
Because "together, we go further", our support is based on constant contact and interaction with regional funding bodies, partner mentors and expert consultants in various fields related to technological innovation.
TECHNOLOGICAL SUPPORT
As part of the incubation process, IMT Mines Alès's teacher-researchers can help you design your prototype.
This support can take the form of decision-making assistance (advice on technologies/publications/patents to be explored) or even technology transfer, with the setting up of an R&D programme.
The links between the researchers and the incubator and local manufacturers can help you integrate manufacturing issues into the design of your prototype.

Incubated projects and our students
The incubator is a place where our students can discover the entrepreneurial adventure, as well as a valuable source of brainpower for the project leaders we support.
Every year, engineering students help to build the incubator's projects, particularly through fieldwork, R&D assignments and industrial development projects.
The incubator works closely with EuroMov DHM, a joint research laboratory between the University of Montpellier and IMT Mines Alès, specialising in movement sciences and their applications in the health sector (e.g. sports performance analysis, disease prediction models, post-stroke rehabilitation, cross-analysis of brain and motor networks, etc.).
EuroMov DHM brings together public research teams, technological platforms (movement simulator), shared and administrative services and innovative companies in the health, movement and sport sector.
The "EuroMov Digital Health in Motion" Joint Research Unit is particularly interested in theoretical and practical developments in: artificial intelligence: knowledge representation and machine learning - decision support and optimisation - digital imaging - model-driven systems and software engineering - and their applications in the fields of movement sciences and health.
