IMT Mines Alès offers several ways to enter, depending on your initial course of study:
International students can be admitted to IMT Mines Alès through 3 main channels.
- Exchange students are admitted after being selected by their home university in the framework of a partnership.
- It is also the home university that proposes applications for students admitted to a dual degree programme at the school.
- Finally, international students can apply directly through the ITM's collective recruitment programme abroad.

The curriculum consists of a core curriculum, an option within a field of excellence and a professional profile.
Each student chooses :
- Elective scientific modules during the first three semesters
- The field of excellence in the second year
- The professional profile and an option within a field of excellence in the third year of study
The engineering curriculum is developed over three years. The first two, in an opening cycle, provide scientific elements and address methodological and technological teaching in several sectors.
These two years, which include experience in companies (internships, field assignments), provide a broad vision of the various professions and sectors of activity.

During the final year, in the advanced cycle, students personalise their course by choosing one of six profiles representing one of the engineer's functions.
For international students who do not speak French, the « International business développer »profile is offered in English
Do you want to manage and develop a company or a project? This profile focuses on one essential aspect: strategic positioning. It provides you with the methods and tools to place the project in a differentiated position vis-à-vis the competition, or even likely to bring in a new market, and leads you to the functions of company director, profit centre manager or project manager
You wish to develop and lead customer relations independently with strong responsibilities and manage a project from prospecting to final invoicing. This profile provides you with cross-disciplinary skills enabling you to play an active role in the development of the company's markets (market research, putting together an offer, calculating costs, etc.).
You want to strengthen your international stature. This profile (in English) provides you with the skills to develop a company internationally: analysis of the environment, mastery of legal and cultural variables, development of prospecting, marketing and negotiation tools. Particular attention is paid to the cultural challenges of doing business abroad.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING
Train yourself to manage large projects that bring together multiple international partners with considerable economic, human and environmental stakes. Learn how to coordinate stakeholders and control the deadlines, costs and quality of projects of this scale.
You want to understand the challenges of the supply chain, master its various links, and be at the heart of a company's strategy. This profile provides you with the skills and tools to analyse and propose a global strategy for the supply chain, a key element in the company's performance.
Are you destined to manage teams, steer organisations and control processes? The RUN course enables you to become a factory, production unit or profit centre manager. It gives you the necessary skills in management, process management, audit techniques, etc.
An option + a business profile = real expertise added to your engineering degree
Dual-skill course
At IMT Mines Alès, you may also want to diversify your skills. Partnerships with other establishments enable the development of cross-disciplinary skills, which are highly appreciated by recruiters.
A full year in one of the partner business schools (Audencia in Nantes and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School in Evry-Paris) adds managerial skills to the technical skills of engineering students. The course leads to the award of a double diploma: IMT Mines Alès Engineer and Master Grande École of the École Supérieure de Management.
After completing part of their studies at IMT Mines Alès and the other part in one of the three partner establishments in Liège, Mons or Montpellier, students obtain a double degree in engineering and architecture in five years. This dual competence is increasingly sought after for innovative projects where architectural design and technical solutions are more and more complex.

This diploma focuses on entrepreneurial support to enable the follow-up and recognition of any student entrepreneurial project.
In collaboration with the universities of Montpellier and Nîmes, dual degree courses allow students to obtain a master's degree in parallel with their engineering degree. This is also a privileged pathway for pursuing a doctoral thesis:

- Master Biotin (Project management and innovation in biotechnologies)
- Master's Degree in Risks
At the end of the second year, some students from PC can join a two-year dual degree course with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier within different options:
- Depollution and Environmental Management
- Chemistry and Bioprocesses for Sustainable Development
- Nuclear Chemistry, Environment
- Engineering of Natural Active Principles
This course allows students to deepen their skills in chemistry and to obtain the two engineering degrees.
At the end of the second year, some students in the Civil Engineering and Sustainable Building Department can join a two-year dual degree course with the École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris (EIVP). This course allows students to deepen their skills in urban engineering and water engineering.
International double degrees
At IMT Mines Alès, the world is your horizon. You can spend from one semester to two years abroad in your own field or in an opening field. A minimum of four months' experience abroad is compulsory. In parallel with your engineering training, you can register for the "D2E" student-entrepreneur diploma. You will thus be able to acquire the tools for reflection and construction to facilitate a business project and be coached during its development.
If you wish to develop a personal project throughout your studies, think about the "Fil Rouge". This will enable you to organise teaching exercises (field missions for example) around this project. This "Fil Rouge" course gives rise to an agreement between the student and the school specifying the conditions of follow-up and evaluation.
Students wishing, from the moment they enter the school, to move towards research careers (doctorate, etc.) can adapt their curriculum, with immersions in research laboratories, and internships or end-of-study projects oriented towards scientific research issues.
Open your mind, learn differently
While consolidating your technical foundations, IMT Mines Alès offers you the opportunity to discover something else, to learn about other learning methods, and to work with researchers and entrepreneurs.
One third of your schooling will be spent in a company. In addition to the internships found in all schools, IMT Mines Alès offers 3 "field missions" during your studies. They will put you in a real-life situation in a company for five consecutive weeks. You will work in teams of three on a project expressed by a company, an organization, a humanitarian association, etc.
CONTRIBUTE TO EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND SCHOOL SUCCESS The School attaches great importance to extra-curricular activities, and actively supports and encourages them, particularly when it comes to solidarity cooperation such as "Ingénieurs Sans Frontières" or "Tsiky zanaka", which organises a large-scale humanitarian project each year aimed at improving the living conditions of young people in developing countries through the construction of hygiene and education infrastructures. BE A PLAYER FOR A SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS THAT LOOKS LIKE YOU Participate in the working groups set up to implement and promote eco-responsible actions on campus and to develop the integration of Environmental and Social Responsibility in the school's training courses.
