Social support

Social support

The school has a student welfare office that has put into place the following social measures for students:

  • a comprehensive scholarship and financial aid procedure
  • a social worker for students who is on duty at the school
  • a psychologist for students who comes to the school on request and consults with students by appointment
  • a disability advisor for pupils responsible, among other activities, for the educational adaptation of disabled students (organisation of 30% additional time during tests);
  • an infirmary

Social support for students to ensure their well-being

In 2019, IMT Mines Alès joined a national IMT/Ressif contract for the implementation of a social action service for students. The inter-company social worker Csiereso was chosen to visit the school twice a month on a permanent basis. This first year of the program has sown the first seeds of confidence in the students and of a multidisciplinary collaboration within the school with a view to improving the well-being of students.

Social support can take on the form that the student chooses (individual/collective, physical, psycho-social, for a one-off session or over a longer period) with the sole ambition of guaranteeing them the means to continue their studies in the best possible conditions while preserving their autonomy and maintaining privacy.

The areas of support are numerous (disability, housing, budget, health). In the "Health" field, awareness campaigns about sexuality and sexual violence are planned.
